A year of free activities planned by Business for Youth Newton-Le-Willows

Business for Youth Newton-Le-Willows (BFY) has unveiled an exciting programme of free activities for local families throughout 2025, including family walks, craft clubs, and our popular summer games series.

The year kicks off with a Family Winter Walk on Saturday, 25 January at 9.30am, focusing on physical wellbeing. Hot and cold drinks plus hot soup will be available after the walk.

Two more themed walks follow – a mental wellbeing themed walk on Saturday, 22 February and a special Mother’s Day walk on Sunday, 23 March, where children can present their mums with gifts, flowers and bubbly.

Spring brings creative opportunities with Easter-themed activities. A five-week Easter crafts club starts on 20 March, running on Thursdays from 4.30-6.15pm at Cross Lane Church, with packed lunches provided for participants.

The season culminates in an Easter Fayre on 20 April at 10am, featuring ‘The Wedding of Mr and Mrs Bunny’, an Easter egg hunt and various stalls.

Looking ahead to summer, the popular BFY Summer Games return with four dates of free holiday activities including packed lunches. Sessions will run on 28 July, 4 August, 11 August and 18 August.

For young gardening enthusiasts, Junior Gardening and Environmental Clubs begin at the end of March, with six fortnightly sessions planned. A new music club is also in development, with details to be announced on our social media channels.

The organisation continues its community support through seasonal appeals, including an Easter egg appeal running from 1 March to 12 April, and a Christmas toy appeal from 1 November to 13 December 2025.
